Just Like Sunshine

“Just like the sunshine touching flowers in the morning. That’s you. Just like the moon that calms my tired soul each night. That’s you”

Just Like Sunshine

Each waking moment as I look upon your face I knew
That you’re the angel that brings joy into my life I do
Just like the sunshine touching flowers in the morning… that’s you
Just like the moon that calms my tired soul each night… that’s you

And everyday I pray you’ll stay
Just like the way you’re mine today
And as I hold your hand in mine I’ll say…I’ll say

I wish I could make time stop with you
And make this moment last with you
I’d give up all the years I have for you…for you

And as the sunlight reflected upon your face…I knew
You’re everything I need, you’re love makes me complete…I knew
I’ll cross the sea of love, I’ll swim a thousand miles to be with you
I’ll ask the ocean to be kind and let me try to be with you

And everyday I pray you’ll stay
Just like the way you’re mine today
And as I hold your hand in mine I’ll say…I’ll say

I wish I could make time stop with you
And make this moment last with you
I’d give up all the years I have for you…for you

Like A Picture, It Captured A Moment

Like a picture, this song captured a moment in my life. Like most of the songs that I have written, I am still vividly aware of the sensations that my senses triggered in me. It was a rainy night up in the hills…I’m sitting alone watching the city lights and the spectacle that sporadic flashes of lightnings creates. The sound of raindrops and the smell in the air…while I steal glimpses of the horizon to get a sense of the ocean beyond. I hope these memories never evade me as I grow old…but I know that memories like life are fleeting. Like pictures, immortalizing a song by recording it doesn’t stop the life represented by it. Life goes on and change will take over. At least we remember snippets of what once was.

This song was recorded using the original way that I plucked the guitar when I first wrote it. Originally recorded using strumming strokes, we have to redo the song to try to recapture that moment. I wish I could sing, but I can only songs…I would have loved to sing one of the songs that is closest to my heart and my soul. I’m glad Juni did a great job of singing it though. I never said it to my friend but I owe him much for singing my song.
