Waiting For You

“ I’m waiting for you. The sunshine will chase off the moon and I’ll still be here. The rain and the storms will come soon and I’ll be in this chair.”

Waiting For You

The cloudless night is waiting for you
Waiting for you
The quiet night is waiting for you
Waiting for you

The crickets sing songs in the moonlight
They whisper your name…hmmmm
The wind caresses the leaves
While they dance in their trees…while I think

I think of you from a far away land
Oh I think of you, I think of you each night
Hmmmm…

I close my eyes while waiting for you
Waiting for you
I know in time, I’ll be in your arms
And I’m waiting for you

The sunshine will chase off the moon
And I’ll still be here
The rain and the storms will come soon
And I’ll be in this chair
Hmmmm…

I think of you from a far away land
Oh I think of you, I think of you each night
Hmmmmm

I think of you from a far away land
Oh I think of you, I think of you each night

One Chapter In A Story

Sometimes, songwriters write songs to tell a story. This is one of those times. The crickets, the trees, the cloudless nights, the chair and every part of this song is real. While the lyrics of ‘Waiting for you” describe the physical scene, the melody actually captured the deepest emotions present during the story – sadness and hope, longing, serenity, peace and even frustrations.

If I can harvest all my experiences and convert each chapter into songs, then I can probably listen to them when I’m frail and old…and be reminded of the important times of my life – those that made me experience emotions that, a long ago, moved me…and then maybe, even just for a while, it’ll give me a chance to relive that particular moment in my life.
