With You

“ Because’ I know, there is no place I’d rather be. No one I’d rather go to, you are pure intensity. No one but you can make me feel alive. And as I gaze up to the orange sky. I feel our souls entwine”

With You

The place is filled with hues that remind me of you
Silence all around me whispers of you
Troubles from my past are fading
Every time I feel your presence
I can spend my life just waiting
For you. For you. For you. For you

I’ll sit around and feel your presence around me
And I will close my eyes so I can see you clearly
Deeper in my mind you’re walking
In a place where I have been
I can see myself just being
With you. With you. With you. With you.

The smallest piece of radiance reminds me of you
You brighten up my world when I’m thinking of you
I can feel myself just taken
No control on where I’m going
I don’t mind as long as it’s ending
With you. With you. With you. With you.

Because’ I know, there is no place I’d rather be
No one I’d rather go to, you are pure intensity
No one but you can make me feel alive
And as I gaze up to the orange sky
I feel our souls entwine

What’s the Price of Not Being With Someone?

What is the price of not being with someone you love whom you know loves you too? This song started with a soft rock bass line while I’m temporarily mulling about this question..the uncertainties, the lost and all the other thing you probably missed in life. The song was shelf for a couple of years because i don’t want to reconnect with my band members because it is so much easier to gig using an acoustic guitar. When I decided to explore recording the song, I had the chance to sit-down and collaborate with a talented musician, Jireh Calo. Jireh is a jazz musician who, as of this writing, I believe is currently studying in Berklee School of Music in Boston. Anyway, Jireh and myself re-wrote and co-wrote the last part – and came up with a totally different arrangement. I felt all the emotions associated with that time when I first wrote the song…alone in my room. We lost the original bass line but Jireh came up with an interpretation that better express what I feel about the song. The song is about distance. It fuses hope with frustration…all those mixed feelings we all experience when we are longing for the embrace of somebody we love.
